What is the difference between your furniture and your competitors'?

Do you supply furniture to boat manufacturers?
Yes we do. We have been a furniture supplier for several boat manufacturers since 1962.
We use the same materials and craftsmanship for boat owners as we do for our boat manufacturers. Our quality and durability record is unmatched.

What information do you need from me to make my order accurate?
Not only do we supply quality, long lasting furniture; we also strive to provide excellent customer service. This does, however, require precise information from you so that your order is completed exactly as you intended.

If…you want to place a bench along the back rail of your pontoon…We require the inside rail (one side) to inside rail (opposite side) dimension. This ensures precise furniture fit.
If…you have a curved railing (usually all four corners of your pontoon)…There is a simple way of obtaining this information. First, get a piece of paper or cardboard large enough to encompass the entire corner. Place it on top of the railing. Take a pencil or marker and draw along the inside of the railing on the bottom side of the paper or cardboard. Send via mail or fax the drawing, and we can take it from there. This also ensures precise furniture fit.
If…you have doors located along the side rails…We require the exact locations so that the furniture will not block a door opening. Once we have the characteristics of your pontoon layout, we can start on the furniture requirements…

Do you refurbish, or sell replacement furniture?   Return to Top
We do both, but replacement is more cost effective than refurbishing. Replacement furniture is made with our foam contours and vinyl patterns, along with our own furniture bases. Refurbish means we must match your base, foam & vinyl patterns. The furniture must be disassembled down to the base. The base may have to be replaced or rebuilt. The vinyl must be disassembled seam by seam to be copied, along with possibly rebuilding or copying foam patterns.

Do you supply furniture for pontoons only?   Return to Top
We supply furniture for Runabouts, Cuddies, Yachts, Sailboats, Cruisers, Paddleboats, Canoes
and Fishing Boats. If it floats, we can help!

Standard & deluxe furniture, what's the difference?   Return to Top
The only difference is the foam in the seat. Standard furniture has a 3" flat foam across the entire seat board. Our Deluxe furniture has the same 3" flat foam (toward the back of the seat), but we also include a round contoured foam along the whole front side of the seat board.

Are the structural bases of your pontoon benches made of plastic?
Yes they are. They are a fully encased, six-sided, roto-molded ¼" thick wall durable polyethylene.

The furniture (benches) listed on your web site are not the same length
as the ones required for my pontoon?
Not to worry…We can match the length of every item you replace to your specification. We can build U-configurations, L-configurations, double-arm, single-arm (left or right), and straight benches of any length and any configuration. Please note that there is a $20 charge per bench for customizing.

Does the price change if I use two or three colors, rather than just one?
For pontoon benches, fish seats, and pilot chairs, it does not. We allow up to three colors before there is a price change. Consoles, sundecks, cushions, side panels, or bow cushions are charged based on labor and materials.

Do you supply the furniture only?   Return to Top
We consider Geldert's to be a one-stop-shop. If you are a do-it-yourselfer and would like wood, plastic, foam, or vinyl, we would be happy to supply you with it. If you would like to order furniture only and do your own installation, we would be happy to supply you with that also. Or, if you would like us to take your project and rebuild it from the ground up - replacing stringers, engine mounts, transoms, floors, decking for pontoons, sundecks, electronics, side panels or storage bins, live wells, swim platforms, console pads, engine/motor covers, bow panels/cushions - we can do it, or you can do it! It's all up to you.

Do you have a color chart on your web site?   Return to Top
No, we do not. The web allows 256 colors, but it does not accurately depict the colors that we carry. We have swatches all ready to go with the name of the color on the back of each one. We can send you swatches via mail per your selections. We have over 100 colors, and many shades of each color category.

What is the difference between your furniture and your competitors'?
We can only speak for what we supply. However, we feel that our ability to build to your specifications sets us apart from the beginning. Materials used are of the highest quality, and we build to last. We use quality, durable vinyl, HR-rated non-memory foam, stainless steel fasteners, and aluminum hinges. Our craftsmanship and attention to detail are considered to be of the utmost importance, and we feel it shows.
